On the morning of 5 April 2026, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital participated in the first National Health Day Festival with a booth offering free medical examinations and consultations for children. The event took place in the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian area and Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi).

Leaders of the Party and the State performed the launching ceremony for National Health Day (7 April).
The event was held as part of the rally to launch National Health Day, which was organized for the first time in Viet Nam. The program was jointly implemented by the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, the Ministry of Health, and units including the Department of Disease Prevention, the Department of Medical Services Administration (Ministry of Health), and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, under the theme “Proactive Disease Prevention – For a Healthier Viet Nam.”

Mr. Trinh Van Quyet—Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization; Ms. Dao Hong Lan—Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Health; and delegates joined a walk in support of National Health Day, spreading the message “Proactive Disease Prevention – For a Healthier Viet Nam.”
Early in the morning, many children and their families came to the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital booth to receive health check-ups and consultations from leading experts. The Hospital’s physicians provided free examinations and health counseling for hundreds of children on common issues such as nutrition, vaccination, respiratory diseases, ear–nose–throat conditions, and allergies. Parents also received specific guidance on age-appropriate child care and disease prevention, helping families proactively protect children’s health at home.

Children received free medical examinations and health consultations directly from physicians at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.
Participating in the program as part of the organizing committee and as one of the physicians directly examining children at the event, Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Hang, MD—Youth Union Secretary of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, stated that the Hospital was honored to take part in the National Health Day Festival. This was a highly meaningful activity that helped raise community awareness of proactive disease prevention, especially for children. Through the program, the Hospital’s physicians focused on counseling on nutrition, vaccination, and health care to support children’s comprehensive development. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Hang also emphasized the role of early prevention and health education, with practical contents such as guidance on caring for common illnesses, safe medication use, and appropriate nutrition for children.

Parents were advised and guided to scan QR codes to access useful information on child health care via the Hospital’s official information channels.
The health festival was a highlight of the peak week in observance of National Health Day, attracting more than 10,000 participants and bringing together numerous central-level hospitals, armed forces hospitals, and reputable private healthcare facilities. The event had practical significance toward the goal of ensuring that all people can access high-quality, equitable, and sustainable health services while encouraging the community to raise awareness and change health-related behaviors.
Participation in the festival not only created opportunities for children to access quality healthcare services but also demonstrated the role and responsibility of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital in community healthcare—working alongside the health sector to spread the message of healthy living and proactive disease prevention for a healthier and stronger future in Viet Nam.
