More than a professional competition, the event also spread the spirit of enthusiasm, confidence, and pride among the nursing workforce—those who quietly work alongside physicians every day to care for and protect children’s health.

Previously, in Round 1 of the competition, nearly 1,000 nurses across the Hospital took part in a comprehensive knowledge assessment in their respective units. Based on test results and demonstrated performance recognized by unit leadership, the top 60 candidates officially advanced to Round 2—the “Golden Bell Challenge”.

The competition was a meaningful activity celebrating International Nurses Day (12 May) and provided a valuable professional forum to strengthen knowledge, improve occupational skills, and encourage learning and exchange among nurses throughout the Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Dien, Hospital Director, shared that this was a highly commendable initiative and expressed hope that it would continue as an intellectually stimulating forum that motivates nurses to keep learning and developing.

The judging panel included: Dr. Phan Huu Phuc, MD (Deputy Director of the Hospital), Ms. Pham Thu Ha, MSc (Secretary General of the Vietnam Nurses Association and Vice President of the Hanoi Nurses Association), together with leaders from several Hospital units.

Competition format and topics

Participants competed through an elimination-style multiple-choice format, covering practical and relevant content such as:

  • Basic and specialty nursing care knowledge
  • Infection prevention and control procedures
  • Patient safety
  • Communication and professional conduct
  • Knowledge about the Hospital
  • Knowledge related to International Nurses Day (12 May)

Contestants focused intensely as they answered clinically relevant professional questions.

The atmosphere intensified continuously with demanding questions, exciting audience “lifelines,” and confident performances by the remaining contestants. At many moments, the auditorium erupted in excitement over impressive comebacks and outstanding answers from talented nurses.

Notably, the top four contestants who advanced through the multiple-choice rounds moved on to the scenario-based communication and response segment, where they demonstrated clinical problem-solving, communication skills, and confidence in front of the judging panel to compete for the highest awards.

Audience “lifelines” added excitement to the competition.

  • Two Third Prizes: Vu Thi Xuan – Department of Dermatology; Chu Phuong Anh – General Surgery Center
  • 56 Consolation Prizes for the remaining contestants

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to top-performing nurses.

The 2026 “Golden Bell Challenge” Nursing Competition not only helped update and reinforce professional knowledge, but also promoted a spirit of learning, confidence, and strong commitment to the nursing profession across the Hospital.

The program concluded in a joyful, united atmosphere, leaving a positive impression and providing further motivation for nurses to continue learning, improve the quality of care, and enhance satisfaction among pediatric patients and their families.
