At the meeting, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital introduced the history of establishment, achievements and future development direction of the hospital. From 1981 to 1999, the Government and people of Sweden supported the construction of facilities for the Hospital as well as sent experts to guide the operation of the Hospital, provide training and professional assistance.Speaking at the meeting, representative of the Hospital thanked and appreciated Sweden’s valuable spiritual and material support for VNCH so far. VNCH always appreciates the great support of the Swedish Government and actively seeks and expands opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of health, training and scientific research.
VNCH is also one of the three coordinating units of the “Vietnam-Sweden Training and Research Academic Cooperation” (the project’s TRAC office is located at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital) with the goal of strengthen and develop research and training issues between the two countries.
On behalf of the Swedish delegation, Ms. Ann Mawe thanked VNCH for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the dedication of the medical staff in child health care. According to the ambassador, Vietnam and Sweden have a long-standing diplomatic relationship. Over decades of building and cultivating close friendship, Sweden has always considered Vietnam a reliable partner and a good friend. The National Children’s Hospital is a beautiful example of such a strong combination.
Also, within the framework of the program, the delegation visited the statue of the late Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme – a great friend of Vietnam during the struggle for national reunification, located at the Hospital.
