Vietnam National Children’s Hospital Welcomes Expert from France, Strengthening Long-standing Cooperation

On the morning of January 27, 2026, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (VNCH) warmly welcomed Professor Odile Kremp, a pediatrician from the University of Lille Nord de France (France). Her visit provided an excellent opportunity for professional exchange and insight into the Hospital’s activities, while also contributing to the reinforcement of the long-standing and productive cooperation between VNCH and healthcare experts from France.

In his welcome remarks, Professor Tran Minh Dien, Director of VNCH, expressed sincere appreciation for Professor Kremp’s visit. He highlighted that the medical cooperation between the Hospital and its French partners — including collaborations with French institutions and professionals such as Professor Kremp — has been cultivated and strengthened over many decades.

Professor Tran Minh Dien, Director of the Hospital, warmly welcomed the expert during her visit and working session at the Hospital.

During the meeting, representatives of the Hospital provided an overview of its history, growth, key areas of expertise, and strategic direction for the coming period. Over many years of development, the Hospital has continually expanded its scope, mastered advanced techniques previously not available domestically, and progressively affirmed its role as the leading national referral center for pediatric care in Vietnam.

Representatives of VNCH provided the expert with an overview of the Hospital’s history, scale of operations, and specialized fields.

Both sides spent considerable time exchanging and discussing professional activities, scientific research, and training in pediatrics, rare diseases, and public health. The working session took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, offering a moment to reflect on the long-standing cooperative relationship between VNCH and its French partners.

Professor Nguyen Gia Khanh, Honorary President of the Vietnam Pediatric Association and former Head of the Gastroenterology Department of VNCH, joined the welcoming of Professor Odile Kremp.

Experts from the Hospital shared specialized perspectives on rare diseases, scientific research, and public health.

Professor Kremp is recognized for her significant role in fostering cooperation, including through programs such as the Faisant Fonction d’Interne (FFI) initiative, which has enabled many Vietnamese doctors to work and undertake clinical practice at reputable medical institutions in France. This collaboration has helped Vietnamese clinicians gain exposure to advanced practice environments, update medical knowledge and techniques, and strengthen research capacity and clinical leadership.

Professor Kremp expressed admiration for the Hospital’s remarkable professional growth and for the development of its young medical staff. She praised the effectiveness of the cooperative programs between the two sides and highlighted their importance as a foundation for continuing to expand collaboration in training, scientific research, and expert exchange in the future.

Professor Odile Kremp expressed her admiration for the achievements of VNCH.

The experts visited the Center for Endocrinology, Metabolism, Genetics and Molecular Therapy and the Neonatal Center.
