Strengthening Collaboration with Nuoy Reconstructive International (USA) in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery and Treatment

On the morning of March 21, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (VNCH) held a closing ceremony to conclude the working program of Nuoy Reconstructive International at the hospital and officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation with Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado (USA).

The delegation from Nuoy Reconstructive International was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hien – Vice Director of VNCH – along with leaders of the Departments of Odonto-Stomatology, Craniofacial Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, International Cooperation Department, and doctors from various specialties within the hospital.

From Nuoy, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuong Nguyen – Co-Founder and Medical Director, Mr. Julien Alexandre Giroux Klaudt Moreau – Co-Founder and Executive Director, Ms. Dinh Minh Anh – Director of Operations for Nuoy Vietnam, and accompanying doctors and experts.

During the visit, Nuoy medical team participated in consultations, diagnosis, and treatment of craniofacial anomalies in pediatric patients at VNCH.

Nuoy Reconstructive International is a non-profit, non-governmental organization headquartered in the United States, officially licensed to operate in Vietnam. With the mission to increase access to safe and affordable surgical care, Nuoy focuses on training and research in reconstructive surgery within healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries.

Over the course of more than 20 years of cooperation and exchange with VNCH, Nuoy has actively mobilized support from individuals and organizations in the United States to develop projects, provide advanced training for doctors, and donate essential medical equipment to the hospital.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hien expressed his deep gratitude on behalf of the hospital’s leadership, staff, and especially the pediatric patients and their families, for Nuoy’s unwavering support. He also expressed hope that the partnership between the two sides would continue to flourish, bringing about practical programs that contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services for children in Vietnam.

In response, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phuong Nguyen thanked VNCH for their warm and thoughtful hospitality, affirming the value of their strong and enduring partnership. He also expressed his wish that VNCH doctors would have the opportunity to visit the United States for academic exchange and training in the future.

Finally, VNCH signed an MOU with Anschutz Medical Campus, University of Colorado, paving the way for further collaboration in various fields such as cosmetic surgery, otorhinolaryngology, anesthesiology, and intensive care, in both clinical practice and research.
