Enhancing International Professional Collaboration: Working with Expert Delegations from South Korea and Australia

On 3 November 2025, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital welcomed and collaborated with expert delegations from South Korea and Australia, marking a fruitful day of international professional cooperation and opening up multiple opportunities in training, research and technology transfer in specialized paediatric care.

Linking Expertise in Paediatric Cardiology with Samsung Medical Center (South Korea)

The Hospital hosted Prof. Dr. Song Jin-Young, Head of the Heart Center at Samsung Medical Center, as part of the professional exchange programme between the Heart Center of the two hospitals. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Cao Viet Tung, Vice Director of the Hospital, with the participation of Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ly Thinh Truong, Director of the Heart Center, and other doctors from the Center.

Prof. Dr. Song presented in depth on the field of paediatric interventional cardiology and the training model for healthcare staff at Samsung Medical Center, providing the doctors and nurses at the Heart Center with practical insights into high–quality human resource development. The activity not only facilitated the update of specialist knowledge but also set the direction for future training and research collaboration between the two institutions.

Advancing Paediatric Orthopaedics with Monash University School of Medicine (Australia)

Continuing the programme, the Hospital welcomed a delegation of leading Australian experts in paediatric orthopaedics and rehabilitation from Monash University School of Medicine, led by Prof. Dr. Ton Anh Tran, Chairman of the Asia–Pacific Committee of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. The two sides exchanged expertise in diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in children with cerebral palsy, and jointly organised a free consultancy and screening programme for approximately 70-80 children with cerebral palsy on 3 November.

Through these collaborative activities, both parties deepened mutual understanding and trust, and committed to pursuing more practical and effective projects in the near future.
