On October 27, 2025, a delegation of doctors from Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (VNCH) visited the National Research Centre for Children’s Health under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation as part of their professional exchange and enhanced international cooperation during their working trip to Moscow from October 1 to October 6, 2025.

The Centre is one of Russia’s leading pediatric institutions, playing a key role in research, training and treatment of complex childhood diseases.
During the working session, the VNCH delegation was formally welcomed by the Centre’s leadership, and introduced to the organizational model, professional capacity and strategic development direction of the Russian institution.
Both parties exchanged views on multi-specialty children’s hospital models, quality management systems, and strategies for developing specialized pediatric centres — opening the way for long-term cooperation in training, research and technology transfer.
The VNCH delegation had the opportunity to learn about advanced fields such as:
- CAR-T cell therapy and stem cell transplantation: the Vietnamese team explored standardized procedures and technology-transfer potential in combining CAR-T therapy with hematopoietic stem-cell transplant for treatment of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
- Diagnostic and surgical techniques: The delegation was introduced to modern surgical practices in head & neck tumour reconstruction, scoliosis correction surgery, orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation for children with osteogenesis imperfecta.
- Imaging diagnostics and nuclear medicine: Updates were provided on application of 3D technology, navigation systems and advanced imaging modalities such as PET/CT, SPECT/CT to enhance pediatric oncology treatment quality.

In the framework of the trip, VNCH was honored with the “Giving Hope” Award in the “Together for Life” category – a significant recognition of the hospital’s continuous efforts in international cooperation, offering life-saving opportunities and brighter futures for Vietnamese children.

This visit marks a new milestone in medical cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. It opens new opportunities for joint projects in child healthcare, pediatric surgery and scientific research, thereby contributing to capacity-building, international integration and the adoption of modern medical advances for VNCH’s medical staff.
