On the morning of August 1, 2025, a delegation from Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (VNCH), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Dien – Director of VNCH, paid an official visit to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) in Singapore. During the visit, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), paving the way for future cooperation in medical training and research.
Established in 1858 as a general hospital serving the community, KKH has evolved into one of Singapore’s most reputable healthcare institutions. In 1924, the hospital shifted its focus to obstetrics, and since 1997, it has been officially named KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Today, KKH stands as a leading medical center for women’s and children’s health in Singapore.

Warm Welcome from KKH
The VNCH delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Alex Sia Tiong Heng, Chief Executive Officer, and Adjunct Assoc. Prof. Chan Yoke Hwee, Chairman Medical Board, along with senior doctors, nurses, and representatives from several key departments. Prof. Alex Sia introduced the hospital’s history, vision, mission, and core values.
In response, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Dien expressed his sincere appreciation for the hospitality and shared an overview of VNCH’s development, professional expertise, and international cooperation strategies.

Signing of the MOU between Vietnam National Children’s Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
The two hospitals engaged in constructive discussions on shared priorities and reached an agreement to sign the MOU, with the aim of developing training programs for medical professionals, enhancing academic exchanges, and fostering joint research initiatives.
As part of the visit, the VNCH delegation toured several specialized units at KKH, including the Children’s Haematology & Oncology Centre, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Clinic.
