For their outstanding contributions to newborn healthcare, the female staff of the Neonatal Center at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital have been awarded the 2025 Vietnam Women’s Award. This recognition is a proud milestone in their continuous efforts for the health and future of Vietnamese children.

The female staff of the Neonatal Center – Vietnam National Children’s Hospital receive the prestigious award.

On the afternoon of October 2, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Women’s Award 2025 was presented in a solemn ceremony to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union and to celebrate Vietnam Women’s Day (October 20). In 2025, the award was given to three collectives and twelve outstanding individuals in the fields of economics, education, healthcare, agriculture, scientific research, state management, national security, defense, art, culture, sports, and more. These recipients have made remarkable achievements and positive contributions to their respective fields, significantly contributing to the country’s development.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Party and State leadership, leaders of the Vietnam Women’s Union, members of the Vietnam Women’s Talent Fund Management Board, representatives from ministries, central agencies, leaders of units with award recipients, as well as the award-winning individuals and collectives.

Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Đỗ Văn Chiến (third from left), along with Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thanh, present the 2025 Vietnam Women’s Award to three outstanding collectives.

Among the honored collectives, the Neonatal Center – Vietnam National Children’s Hospital was recognized as one of the exemplary units in the healthcare sector in 2025. Through their tireless efforts, the Neonatal Center has achieved many proud accomplishments, significantly improving neonatal mortality and reducing the incidence of complications in newborns.

Notable achievements of the Neonatal Center include:

  • Survival rate of extremely premature infants: The Center has successfully saved many infants born prematurely with very low birth weights (below 1000g), even those under 500g – an achievement few medical facilities can claim.
  • Application of advanced techniques: The center has mastered many specialized techniques such as high-frequency ventilation and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) for newborns, helping to treat severe respiratory failure cases effectively.
  • Reducing long-term complications: The center not only saves lives but also focuses on minimizing neurological, visual, and auditory complications, ensuring that these infants have a healthier and fuller future.
  • The special and humanitarian initiative of the female medical staff with the “Breast Milk Bank” project. This initiative not only provides nutrition but also brings love and compassion, helping fragile infants gain the strength to overcome the difficult early days of life.

Dr. Lê Thị Hà – Director of the Neonatal Center, representing the female staff, delivers a presentation during the ceremony.

The 2025 Vietnam Women’s Award is a well-deserved recognition of the dedication and hard work of the female staff at the Neonatal Center – Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. This prestigious award will serve as motivation for the medical team to continue their efforts in providing quality healthcare for newborns and children – the future of the nation.

The Vietnam Women’s Award is a national award, established in 2002, to honor the contributions, talents, and creativity of outstanding women collectives and individuals across all fields of society. It aims to promote gender equality and the advancement of women in Vietnam.
