On 28th of August, 2023, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (NCH) signed MOU with University of California San Francisco, USA (UCSF) in the field of cancer training and scientific research on children in Vietnam.
University of California, San Francisco is one of the most prestigious hospitals for training thousands of exceptional and professional doctors in USA. The university also have many leading experts in teaching and medical research.
The signing ceremony of MOU on training and scientific research between NCH and UCSF marks a close and sustainable partnership between the two hospitals to enhance the quality of cancer diagnosis and treatment in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr Tran Minh Dien – Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital stated that, “Cancer is a complex and malignant disease that requires accurate and timely diagnosis and treatment. Our hospital always strives to provide the most comprehensive cancer treatment for our young patients. In addition to the local resources, we hope to have additional resources from domestic and international organizations to enhance the diagnostic and treatment capabilities for our doctors at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital as well as our colleagues in other provinces”.
“Oncology requires significant financial and human resources. With the collaboration of international experts, this is a new step to strengthen knowledge for the development of our oncology healthcare workforce,” shared PhD.Dr. Bui Ngoc Lan – Director of Oncology Center.
Professor Dr. Michelle Hermiston highly appreciated the collaboration with Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. She believes that it will bring many benefits to children with cancer in Vietnam.
The agreement between Vietnam National Children’s Hospital and University of California, San Francisco will focus on several important areas, including:
- Training including student exchange programs, especially study abroad programs.
- Organizing visits and work with the aim of research and training.
- Research including support for writing and publishing articles.
- Promoting training to enhance the quality of healthcare, scientific applications, and data processing.
- Exchange resources and publication of research papers.
- Collaborating on continuous training programs and other training programs.
