Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, Kobe University Hospital, and Takatsuki General Hospital

Building on the longstanding cooperation with Kobe University Hospital and Takatsuki General Hospital (Japan), Vietnam National Children’s Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with these two hospitals on June 7, 2024. This MOU aims to enhance cooperation and develop an effective learning, research, and practice-sharing environment in the field of Pediatric Surgery.

The signing ceremony marks a strong and sustainable partnership among the three institutions, aiming to promote high-quality human resources, thereby improving the quality of pediatric healthcare services.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Tran Minh Dien, Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, stated: “As a leading hospital, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital provides many optimal solutions in child healthcare. Every day, the hospital receives about 5,000 outpatients and over 2,000 inpatients, with approximately 130 operations. To ensure patient safety and improve healthcare quality, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital always focuses on enhancing professional quality, training, and updating advanced medical technologies in the world. Recently, the hospital has developed many specialized techniques in field of thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular surgery. It meets the goal of ensuring child healthcare, especially for severe and complex cases in Vietnam.”

With the aim of providing the best healthcare for children, Associate Professor Tran Minh Dien emphasized the need for modern medical equipment and a highly specialized medical team. Hence, this cooperation will further strengthen the connection between the three hospitals. Kobe University Hospital and Takatsuki General Hospital will continue to accompany Vietnam National Children’s Hospital in training and scientific research activities, not only in surgery but also in intensive care, imaging diagnostics, and so on, ensuring the best healthcare for Vietnamese children.

Associate Professor Tran Minh Dien expressed sincere thanks to the two hospitals for their long-term cooperation with Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.

“In recent years, many doctors from Vietnam National Children’s Hospital have had the opportunity to study and work in Japan. I hope that more and more Japanese doctors will come to Vietnam for training in the future, and vice versa,” shared Associate Professor Pham Duy Hien, Vice Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.

Before the signing ceremony, the delegation from Kobe University Hospital and Takatsuki General Hospital visited the Comprehensive Surgery Center, Neonatal Center, and other departments of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. Professor Hirotaka Minami from Takatsuki General Hospital, was impressed and highly appreciated the professional capabilities of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. He hoped that after the signing ceremony, all parties would have more opportunities to learn from each other and engage in more cooperative activities in the future.

At the signing ceremony, based on the strengths and needs of each party, the hospitals exchanged and agreed to sign the MOU with the following contents:

  • Promoting opportunities for exchange and learning among specialists and healthcare staff in pediatric airway surgery.
  • Collaborating on research and initiatives to improve surgical care quality for children with movement and developmental disorders.
  • Establishing a regular forum for exchanging information and advanced techniques.
  • Participating in clinical case studies and scientific seminars to enhance the capacity of healthcare staff and improve pediatric care quality.

In a formal and cordial atmosphere, the signing ceremony was successfully concluded. It is hoped that with the determination of the three hospitals, the agreement will be implemented effectively soon, thereby improving the quality of healthcare for Vietnamese children.
