On the afternoon of September 26, 2025, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital held a conference to evaluate the results of implementing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) at the hospital. Attending the conference were Mr. Trần Văn Tuyên – Specialist of the Health IT Management Department, Department of Science, Technology and Training – Ministry of Health; Mr. Hoàng Anh Đức – Deputy Head of the IT Department, Hanoi Oncology Hospital; Lieutenant Colonel Vũ Bích Vân – representative from the Internal Political Security Division PA03, Hanoi Police; along with the hospital’s Board of Directors and leaders of several departments.

The conference was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Trần Minh Điển – Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital and Chairman of the professional council evaluating the EMR implementation at the hospital.
The implementation of electronic medical records at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital is an important step in the national digital transformation initiative, aiming to apply information technology in managing medical records, supporting professional work, and improving service quality for patients.
During the conference, delegates evaluated the implementation of EMR at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital according to Circular 54/2017/TT-BYT dated December 29, 2017, issued by the Ministry of Health on the criteria for applying information technology in medical examination and treatment facilities, and Circular 13/2025/TT-BYT dated June 6, 2025, providing guidance on EMR implementation. Representatives of the hospital’s specialized units presented and clarified relevant content as requested by the Evaluation Council.
In recent times, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital has proactively invested in infrastructure upgrades and promoted the application of IT in medical examination, treatment, and management operations. Currently, the hospital has synchronously implemented systems such as Hospital Information System (HIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS), Radiology Information System/Picture Archiving and Communication System (RIS/PACS), and cashless payment solutions, contributing to improved service quality and management efficiency.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Trần Văn Tuyên acknowledged the achievements of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital so far and requested the hospital continue to develop roadmaps and implement specific directions in its ongoing digital transformation efforts.

Delegates and the professional council contributed opinions and evaluated the EMR implementation at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.
After a rigorous and objective inspection and evaluation, the professional council concluded that Vietnam National Children’s Hospital meets all criteria and conditions to officially replace paper medical records with electronic medical records. In the next phase, the hospital will continue to invest in system upgrades and intensify training for medical staff to effectively utilize the EMR system, thereby improving the quality of medical examination and treatment for children.
