Vietnam National Children’s Hospital accompanies the “Giọt máu nghĩa tình” campaign 2026: receiving 1,000 units of blood for patient care

On the morning of 27 March 2026, the Hanoi Police Department held the launching ceremony for the “Giọt máu nghĩa tình” (Compassionate Blood Drop) campaign. The activity not only reflects the nation’s long-standing tradition of mutual support and solidarity, but also serves as evidence of the courage, responsibility, and noble character of the People’s Public Security force—strongly spreading a message of sharing for the community and for patients.

The event was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi Police Department, and representatives of central-level hospitals, including Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong, MD—Deputy Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.

The campaign will be implemented continuously over four months (from 27 March to 15 July) at multiple locations within the Hanoi Police Department and other affiliated units and localities, with a target of collecting at least 2,500 units of blood. As part of the campaign, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital is one of the blood-receiving facilities supporting emergency care and treatment for pediatric patients. The Hospital is expected to receive approximately 1,000 units of blood, helping ensure a safe and timely blood supply, especially for emergency situations and the treatment of severe conditions.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, thousands of officers, soldiers, and youth members of the capital’s police force actively participated in blood donation, demonstrating the spirit of “serving the people,” not only in their professional duties but also through this meaningful humanitarian act.

More than 1,000 officers, soldiers, and youth members of the Hanoi Police Department enthusiastically donated blood at the launching ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong, MD—Deputy Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital—expressed deep appreciation and sincere thanks to the Hanoi Police force for always standing alongside the healthcare sector in voluntary blood donation activities. “These compassionate drops of blood are not only an invaluable gift for patients, but also strengthen the confidence and determination of doctors and nurses as they strive to save and restore life for pediatric patients,” Dr. Hoang Minh Phuong shared emotionally.

Vietnam National Children’s Hospital is expected to receive approximately 1,000 units of blood from the program in 2026.

For many years, the Hanoi Police Department and Vietnam National Children’s Hospital have maintained close and consistent coordination in implementing various voluntary blood donation programs—especially during periods of blood shortages, such as the Lunar New Year holiday, the summer season, or emergency situations. The 2026 “Giọt máu nghĩa tình” campaign is not merely a charitable blood donation activity, but has also become a meaningful symbol of compassion and the close bond between the police force, the healthcare sector, and the residents of the capital—fully reflecting the spirit: One drop of blood given – One life saved.
