On 19th of October, 2023, the delegation of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University led by Prof. Dr. Chen Junqiang – President of the Hospital visited Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. On the occasion of this visit, two sides expect to expand extensive and long-term cooperation in the field of expertise and hospital management.
At the meeting, Associate Professor.Dr.Tran Minh Dien – Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital warmly welcomed the official delegation to visit the hospital. He also introduced the history of establishment, achievements and future development direction of the hospital in range of medical examination and treatment, training, scientific research, management, and international cooperation.
Associate Professor.Dr.Tran Minh Dien said: “Vietnam National Children’s Hospital is the leading pediatric center in all Vietnam. Each day, VNCH receives 4,000 – 5,000 outpatients and treats more than 2,000 inpatients. The majority of whom are children with serious and complicated illnesses. Therefore, I hope that this visit will lay foundation for future cooperation on training, medical examination and treatment and scientific research with the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, which contributes to improving the quality of children’s health care.”
Responding to Associate Professor.Dr.Tran Minh Dien’s statement, Prof.Dr.Chen Junqiang happily shared that it was the 4th time he visited Hanoi and the first time to visit Vietnam National Children’s Hospital. The delegation of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University is looking forward to having bilateral cooperation in the field of Pediatrics.
“Guangxi is the area with the highest incidence of blood diseases, especially Thalassemia, in China. Therefore, our hospital has had more than 50 years of in-depth research in the field of pediatric hematology in order to detect and treat children with these diseases. Many studies have shown that Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, currently have very high rates of Thalassemia, so we hope to share and exchange experiences with you in screening diagnosis and treatment of Thalassemia in particular and blood diseases in general.”, Prof.Dr.Tran Tuan Cuong said.
Besides Surgery, Endocrinology, and Traditional Medicine, two sides promise to organize advanced consultations on difficult cases to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. In particular, two hospitals are also ready to accompany and support each other to get high achievement on hospital management.
Within the framework of the meeting, the delegation of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University had chance to visit several Departments and Centers such as: Department of Clinical Hematology, International Center, Center for Endocrinology – Metabolism – Genetics and Molecular Therapy, Breast Milk Bank and so on. It was a great opportunity to build appropriate cooperation programs for each field.
The successful results of the meeting are the first step for the two hospitals to deploy many in-depth and effective cooperation models and promote the existing potentials and deepen strengths of each side in the coming time.
