The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital team led by Assoc. Prof.Dr Randall T. Hayden – Director of the Division of Clinical Pathology and Global Pathology, visited Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (NCH) last September.
During the visit, the team was welcomed by PhD.Dr Cao Viet Tung – Deputy Director of Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, PhD.Dr Bui Ngoc Lan – Director of Cancer Center, PhD.Dr Hoang Ngoc Thach – Head of Pathology Department and other doctors of the hospital.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a world-leading hospital in the United States, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases in children. St. Jude Children’ s Hospital and Vietnam National Children’s Hospital have been cooperating in the field of child health care in several years.
On this occasion, the two sides exchanged and discussed cooperative training programs in order to enhance professional competence, technical transfer as well as the potential for long-term cooperation in the fields of Pathology, Cancer, Microbiology and other areas. It can support the common development of testing systems, especially contributing to the early and accurate diagnosis of cancer pathologies in children.
Speaking at the workshop, Assoc. Prof.Dr Randall T. Hayden expressed his deep gratitude to Vietnam National Children’s Hospital and hope that the two sides would soon have more intensive, effective, practical and sustainable cooperation programs that aimed at improving the survival rate of cancer children and other impoverished diseases in the near future.
This visit shows that Vietnam National Children’s Hospital is always trying to improve the quality of human resources at the hospital, which helps to bring the best health care to many children in Vietnam.
